Green powder on St. Patty's day

What up flia!                                                               March 17, 2014  Godoy Cruz

I'm glad everyone got to enjoy their Spring Break adventures! Loved the stories and pictures. Looks like everythings great out there in AZ!

Down here in Arg. things are a little rough for everyone because of the economic situation right now. Just about everyone we talk to is on edge and it definitely complicates the work a little bit too because they've got a lot of things on their minds and don't have time to listen, but it's all good, we're doing what we can to help those that are willing to listen find peace. We had a little bit more success this week than the last one. A miracle happened las Thursday when a lady named Salome rang the doorbell of the mission office and told the elders she was a member but hadn't gone in over ten years and wanted to know what she needed to do to come back. She's 32 and got baptized at age 14 in Chile but she was the only member in her fam and when she moved to Argentina with her boyfriend and had her baby she lost contact with the church, but now her daughter is 10, and the two of them live alone. We had a lesson with Salomé on Thursday and then she and her daughter both came to church yesterday and stayed all 3 hours! She's super cool even though she told me I was fat and apparently is going to get me some sort of green powder to take so that I can lose weight... Yep.
We also had Zone Conference which was amazing- our Pres. is the best. What wasn't cool about it was that they made me translate a 10 min presentation that the mission nurse gave who still doesn't speak much Spanish. She's crazy and she wouldn't pause to let me translate and so it was kind of a mess.
It's always funny to have a comp from another country because of the different words and phrases we each use, for example this week we had a discussion about whether a lemon is called a lime or a lemon.. according to my comp, a lemon is a lime and a lime is a lemon. But we all know that lemons are lemons and limes are limes, right? Also, she calls socks pantis. Oh and she plucks her armpit hairs.. hahaha
Not much else happened this week besides meeting a crazy old depressed lady who won't stop crying and wouldn't let us teach, and also we met a crazy old guy who freaked out when I told him I was from Arizona. He congratulated me from being from there and then the next time we ran into him he said Hola, la Arizona, como andás? Haha.
That's about it. This week Fall is supposedly starting :( and hopefully we'll find some more people to teach! Don't forget to say your prayers and read the Book of Mormon. Love you!
