First transfer in Argentina!

Hey guys!                                            Sept. 6, 2013

First of all, sorry I didn't send any pics. I took some great videos this week, but 0 pictures :/ Second of all, thanks for the emails & pictures that you sent. Haha I loved the poem (how did you guys know that I ran naked through town..?), the mutilated pizza, and that you went to pick the senior pictures in the Abigail dress. I think you guys have all gotten crazier since I left (which I fully support, of course). I'm glad Rustin had a great birthday. I love that the girls brought cake and ice cream to his practice- so cute. It seems like every time you write me, though, that he's hanging out with a new girl.. I guess that's better than steady dating before the mission though, right? Speaking of missions, I'm so excited for Mckaylee, Tiffany, and Amanda Rawlins that they're officially missionaries now! It's such an awesome and eye-opening experience, they're gonna love it.

So I'm sure by now that you're anxious to hear what happened with the transfers? It turns out that the 20 hermanas that were rumored to arrive this transfer didn't actually get there visas in time, and so only 5 hermanas are coming directly from the Argentina MTC (which means that they're all Latinas). After finding that out, we were all super anxious to know what would happen to the four of us, and we all anxiously awaited the infamous call of the elders which didn't end up coming until this morning, and so, as you can imagine, none of us slept as well as we could have last night. But anyways, the important thing is that we found out what's going to happen......... Any guesses?.................................................................

I'm leaving "My Poo"/Maipú!!! I'm going to San Rafael, which is about 3 and a half hours South of where I'm at right now! My new comp is going to be Hermana Chorolqui! Hermana Ruiz (la Mexicana) is going to San Luis and washing an area with a mini missionary, and the other two (Hnas Cooley and Cheta) are staying in Maipú and training new hermanas! We're all pretty excited, but the thing that's kind of weird is that I'm going to the area that Hna Cheta was in before she came to this area, and Hna Chorolqui was her comp there for 2 and a half months. Once again, I've heard a lot of interesting things about my new comp.. I'm trying to ignore the gossip like I did when Hna Cheta came because obvioiusly hardly any of it was true, but in spite of my effort to ignore it, a few things have me a little worried. For example, according to other missionaries she "hates Gringas"... so that's cool. Just like with Hna Cheta though I'm gonna wait and see for myself what she's like. Maybe I'll be able to change her mind about gringas if the rumor happens to have some truth to it. I've decided that I better start not getting along as well with my companions, or else Presidente's going to keep putting me with the most gossiped-about hermanas in the mission.. haha. But it's all good, I've had good luck so far (:

I don't really have a ton of things to tell you about this past week. Practically all of our lessons with our best investigators got cancelled, and we had terrible luck with collectivos (two times in a row the collectivos that go to Lunlunta never came, and so we lost a good chunk of time). We had some good lessons with less actives, but other than that there's not a ton to tell you about. Two days this week Hna Cheta talked her way into 2 of the other hermanas' lunches because we hardly have any, which was pretty entertaining. We also had zone meeting, which is always fun. Other than that, not much else happened.

I'm gonna miss the other hermanas and the members here a ton. I was learning a lot from Hna Cheta and we were starting to have some success, but I'm sure there's a lot that I can learn with Hna Chorolqui in San Rafael too. I'm excited that I get another native Spanish-speaking comp so that I can keep progressing quickly like I am now, and apparently she has the same accent (Porteño- with the "sh" sound for words with ll and y) that Hna Keller and Cheta have been teaching me to use since I got here, so I'm happy about that too. I'm leaving (alone) on Wendsday morning to my new area, and so I'll let you know how everything goes next Monday! Stay safe and have an awesome week! Love you!

<3,
Hermana Crawford
